Keeping your data safe

Airkab UK (“Airkab”, “we” or “us”) is committed to protecting its visitors’ and users’ (“you” and “your”) privacy and to protect personal information, by which we mean data that can be used to identify or contact a single person, and we set out here our policy to protect that information, and to explain how we may process and use that information to better serve you while using our website www.airkabltd.com (the ‘Website’), our mobile customer application (the ‘Application’) and our on-demand services (collectively the “Service”). What the terms mean

In this policy, “User” means a person who has signed up and is registered with Airkab UK for the use or potential use of the Service; “Partner” means the party having responsibility for the driving transportation service; “Driver” means the person who is an employee or business partner of, or otherwise retained by the Partner and who provides the ride to the User; ‘Vehicle’ means a vehicle that is owned and/or used by a Partner to provide the ride or to provide other services.

Data you provide to us

You may be asked to provide items of personal information at any time when you are in contact with Airkab. Airkab may use it subject to and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. We may also combine it with other information to provide and improve our products, services, content, and advertising. You are not required to provide the personal information that we have requested, but, if you chose not to do so, in many cases we will not be able to provide you with our products or services or respond to any queries you may have.

When you register with Airkab as a User, we will ask for your name, email address, country, language, password, mobile phone number, IP-address, MAC-address, and your credit card number, expiry date and security code. We will use your contact details to send you a welcoming email to confirm your username and password, to communicate with you in reply to your enquiries, and to send you service-related announcements, for instance, if our Service is temporarily suspended for maintenance. We will use your registration information to create and manage your Airkab account. We may deactivate your account if we suspect that you use our Application to commit fraudulent or illegal acts or if you violate our terms of use.

What we do with your data

When you use our Application, we process technical data such as your IP-address, Device ID or MAC-address, and information about the manufacturer, model, and operating system of your mobile device. We use this data to ensure the Application works properly on your device, to resolve technical difficulties and to provide you with the correct and most up to date version of the Application and to make it work even better.

When you use the Airkab Application through your mobile device, and only if you have consented to this, we will track your geo-location information on a real time basis only. We use this information to allow you to see what Drivers in your area are close to your location, set your pick up location and send it to the requested Driver, and to see the requested Driver approaching on a map in real time. We may also use this real-time geo-location information to address user or driver support, technical, or business issues that may arise in the course of your use of the Application. If you contact Airkab customer service while on a ride, and it is necessary to use your real-time geo-location information to address your question, our support personnel will seek your consent before consulting your real-time geo-location. In addition, it is your choice to use some of the features of the App during the ride, for example, ‘Share my Ride’ will allow you to share your geo-location information with those persons with whom you choose to share such information. You can also decide to share your estimated time of arrival (ETA) with one of your contacts. In that case the Airkab Application will automatically send your contact a one-time text message from your contact list informing him or her of your ETA. If you do not consent to the tracking of your geo-location, you will still be able to use the basic features of the Application. You may at any time withdraw your consent in your Airkab account.

Alternatively, the geo-location tracker can be switched off at the device level temporarily. Your mobile device informs you when geo-location is tracked by displaying the GPS arrow icon. If you are traveling in a Vehicle, we will collect the Driver’s geo-location information from the Driver’s mobile device. Because you are travelling in the Vehicle, this means we will also indirectly receive your location information. This information is necessary to calculate your fare, send you a receipt showing the route of the ride, allow you to view your trip history in your Airkab account, and handle complaints from you or Drivers. We may also use the Driver’s geo-location information in an anonymised form with many other Users’ information in order to generate statistical information and management information and to provide you with increased Application functionality.

When you request transportation via the Airkab Application, we provide your first name or last name to the Driver/Partner who accepts your request for transportation so that the Driver may contact and find you. If you choose to upload a photo to your Airkab account, your photo will be viewable by the Driver who is picking you up so that the Driver is able to confirm your identity. You may remove or replace your photo at any time by logging into your account on the Website, but obviously we ask that the photo is yours and is a photo of you.

If you have requested a ride through the Website or the Application, from the time that your ride request is accepted by the Driver until you reach your destination, you and the Driver will have the ability to contact each other, via the mobile phone used to request the ride. During that time and only if you have consented we will send you push notifications to your mobile phone to let you know if the Driver is on his way to your location and again when he has arrived at your location. To send you push notifications we will process your telephone number. If you do not want to receive push notifications you can always withdraw your consent by changing your settings via the settings page of your mobile telephone.

What our Website does

When you visit our Website, our website software receives technical data such as your IP-address, visited webpages within the Website, the type of internet browser you use, how long you are on our Website, and previous/next visited websites, which enables the Website to operate properly. In addition, in certain instances the browser may prompt you for your geo-location to allow us to provide you better service. This technical data is used to keep the Website operating optimally, and to aid in dealing with technical faults should they arise, as well as to make the Website easier to use.


We also use cookies: these are small files that we place on your computer or mobile device to enable various features of the Website. These retain personal information when you use our website, online services, and applications to make the systems work better for you. There may also be similar technical features such as pixel tags and web beacons. We treat information collected by cookies and other technologies as non-personal information. However, in circumstances when Internet Protocol (IP) addresses or similar identifiers are considered personal information we also treat these identifiers as personal information. You can change your cookie settings to accept or not accept cookies in your browser settings.

Knowing your contact information and information about your computer or device helps us personalize your operating system and provide you with better customer service. As is true of most websites, we gather some information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes Internet Protocol (IP) addresses, browser type and language, Internet service provider (ISP), referring and exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and clickstream data. We use this information to understand and analyse trends, to administer the site, to learn about user behaviour on the site, and to gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. Airkab may use this information in our marketing and advertising services. Pixel tags enable us to send email messages in a format customers can read, and they tell us whether mail has been opened. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to customers. Airkab uses Google Analytics’ cookies. If you have cookies disabled in your browser, these cookies will be blocked. Google Analytics is a web analysis service that is offered by Google Inc. Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse the usage of the Website by Users to give Airkab an insight in the way Users use the Website. You can find more information on Google Analytics here.

Security systems – keeping your data safe

Airkab uses suitable technical and organizational security measures against loss or unlawful use of your personal data. Your personal data is retained securely within our database, and we use standard, industry-wide, commercially reasonable security practices such as encryption, firewalls and SSL (Secure Socket Layers) as well as physical safeguards of the locations where the data is stored. However, while we use high quality encryption technology, no security system is impenetrable. We are confident that our system is secure, but we cannot absolutely guarantee the security of our database, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won’t be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet. Any transmission of information by you to Airkab is at your own risk. We recommend that you do not disclose your password to anyone.

We use Stripe for payment, analytics, and other business services. Stripe collects identifying information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides to us, including for fraud detection. Airkab may also collect data in forms that do not, on their own, permit direct identification of any specific person. We may collect, use, transfer, and disclose non-personal information for any purpose. Examples of this sort of information include occupations, language, post codes and locations. We collect this so that we can understand what you the customer want from us, so that we can improve our products, advertising and services. We may collect data about how our Website and the Application are used, for the same reasons.  If for any reason we do combine non-personal data with personal information then this combined data will be treated as personal information for as long as it remains combined, with all the protections we provide for personal data.

Airkab cares about the safety of children. Because our Service is not intended for use by children under 18, they are not allowed to register with us or use the Service, or to provide personal data. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will delete that information immediately.

Payment and contact data

When you register as a User, we will ask for your credit card details. This information is provided to one of our authorised and PCI compliant payment processing providers in order to process payments for your requests or rides. Airkab itself DOES NOT collect or store your full credit/debit card information and only collects the first six (the BIN numbers) and the last four digits of your credit card number, the expiration number and your post code. We use this information to prevent fraud.

In cases when a Customer requests a chargeback the Company reserves the right to provide Customer’s personal information and reported trip information to the payment gateway provider including, but not limited to, the Customer’s name, credit card transaction details, phone number, picture, driver’s information, pickup and drop off locations, timestamps of the trip, GPS track of the trip, total duration and distance, trip cost, and any other order details passed through the app.

Airkab may use your contact details to send you general updates regarding Airkab news, special offers and promotions. You may at all times opt-out of receiving these updates through the Website.


If you choose to use our referral feature in the Application to tell a friend about our Service, you will be prompted to enter your friend’s email address or mobile phone number or log into your preferred social network. If you decide to refer a friend, we will automatically populate a message for you to send to your friend inviting him or her to try the Service on your behalf, however the actual message will be sent via your mobile device or social network and you will be able to edit the final message before you send it. We do not store your friend’s data.


We may employ outside companies and individuals to assist or to provide the Service on our behalf, to process payments, provide customer support, provide geo-location information to our Drivers, to host our job application form, to perform Website-related services (e.g., without limitation, maintenance services, web analytics, database management and improvement of the Website’s features) or to assist us in analysing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your personal information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are contractually bound not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. Airkab UK will disclose your personal data to the extent that this is legally required or necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims and legal process; or in the event of an emergency pertaining to your health and/or safety.

Subject to the above, Airkab does not disclose any personal information that could identify you to any third party outside Airkab and its associates and Service providers. Airkab can use data based on your personal data in an anonymised and aggregate form in order to identify which features of the Service are used most, to analyse how the Service is used and to determine where we should offer or focus our Service. We may share this information with third parties for industry analysis and statistics, but without revealing anything that might identify any individual User.


User Rights

As a user, you have the right to know what information we hold regarding your personal account, including information that you’ve provided to us and information regarding each ride requested via the Application. You may at any time request correction or erasure of your personal data, and object to any processing of your personal data by emailing us at support@airkabltd.com (put “Privacy Policy” in the Subject line). We will respond to your access and/or correction request within one month – usually much faster. You may also amend your personal details and withdraw any given consent using your Airkab UK account.

We will retain your information until you cancel your Airkab account. If you wish to cancel your Airkab account or request that we no longer use your information to provide you services, please contact us at support@airkabltd.com (put “Privacy Policy” in the Subject line). To delete your account and your data you should send a first class letter to the company address (with proof of your identity), whereupon the account and all data will be deleted within 1 month from the receipt of the letter.
